Tidal is built for casual and intermediate surfers — the people who surf when they can, not the ones chasing XXL swells professionally. We translate raw ocean data into a plain-English score so you don't need years of experience to know whether it's worth getting up at 5am.
We pull data directly from NOAA ocean buoys and National Weather Service wind models, supplemented with tide-gauge readings. Our scoring model is calibrated against hyperlocal break characteristics — the same swell behaves differently at a beach break versus a reef. No forecast is perfect, but we aim to get the "go / don't go" call right the vast majority of the time.
We're launching first across US coastlines — California, Hawaii, the Gulf Coast, Florida, and the East Coast. During early access, waitlist members will help us prioritize the next breaks we add. International coverage (Central America, Australia, Portugal) is on the roadmap.
Tidal is completely free during the beta. We'll announce pricing plans before we move to a paid tier — and everyone on the early-access waitlist will get a heads-up (and likely a discount) before the gates open publicly.
